BlogHer Features My Piece on 10 Black Women to Read as part of #WeNeedDiverseBooks Movement

One lazy Sunday I finally got down to business on something I had planned to do every single day in the month of February: write about a Black female-centered, written or directed book or film I love for Black History Month. Well, obviously, we can see how that turned out. I created a post to commemorate ten historical Black women authors I love and loathe others do not know, and, well…

However, the beautiful editors at BlogHer rescued my attempt to honor at least some of that wish. With precision editing and presentation, they lifted my cross-post of my original NEGRESSION post as a feature in the “We Need Diverse Books” campaign. I am grateful they cared about my project, however incomplete from my original lofty goals for it.

You may read my essay “10 Black Writers to Read Now” over at BlogHer if you haven’t done so here.
